Skin lesions as an initial manifestation of late osteosynthesis‐associated infection

چکیده

Late osteosynthesis-associated infection (OAI) is an uncommon and potentially serious disease. Its clinical presentation may mimic skin soft tissue infection, leading to misdiagnosis. We report the case of a 64 year-old man with late OAI in frontal bone, initially misdiagnosed as infectious cellulitis. can be difficult suspect, especially if intervention was performed years ago. Because misdiagnosis, symptoms masked by use antibiotics, so it utmost importance take detailed history make early diagnosis avoid potential complications. The treatment consists antibiotics replacement osteosynthesis material. Therefore, when facing torpid evolution which persists despite correct past medical underlying material, should considered.
